Who we are

MenoMellow (https://www.menomellow.com) is an independent educational website written for women in the United States who are navigating perimenopause and menopause. We publish guides, price checks, and reviews of telehealth providers. Everything on the site is educational and is not medical advice; see our medical disclaimer.

What we collect, and what we do not

We do not collect your name, email address, date of birth, payment details, or health records. There is no account to create, no newsletter to join, and no checkout. Nothing on this site asks you to enter personal information.

What is collected falls into three categories:

• Usage analytics through Google Analytics, described below.
• Technical logs kept by our hosting provider when a page is served.
• Attribution data handled by partner sites when you follow one of our affiliate links.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-JXY1H2471J) to understand which pages are read, for how long, and where readers come from. To do this, Google sets cookies in your browser (such as the _ga cookie) and receives information about your visit: the pages you view, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.

We look at this data in aggregate only. We do not upload any personal information to Google Analytics, and we do not use it to identify or contact individuals. Google processes this data under its own terms; see Google's privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies from googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com in your browser settings.

The perimenopause quiz

Our symptom quiz runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are not sent to our servers, are not stored, and are not linked to you in any way. When you close or refresh the page, they are gone. The quiz is an educational screening tool, not a diagnosis.

Search

When you use the site search, the words you type are sent to our server so it can return matching pages. We do not keep a history of search queries tied to any visitor. Like any web request, a search may appear briefly in the technical logs described below.

Affiliate links and partner sites

Some links on this site are affiliate links. They pass through an address on our own domain (for example /go/winona) and then redirect you to the provider's website. That redirect is a simple, instant forward: we do not set a cookie on our site and we do not record who clicked.

Once you arrive on the partner's site, the partner and the affiliate network that tracks referrals (Affiliate Gravity) may set their own cookies so that a later sign-up can be attributed toMenoMellow. We receive commission reports that show the number of referrals and sign-ups; those reports do not contain your name or contact details. Hosting and technical logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like every hosting provider, Vercel keeps short-lived request logs that may include your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, and your browser's user-agent string. These logs exist to keep the site running and to detect abuse. We do not use them to profile readers.

Google API services

To measure how the site performs in search results, we connect our own Google Search Console and Google Analytics accounts to internal reporting tools through Google sign-in. This connection concerns only the publisher's account and our own site data. We never ask readers to sign in with Google, and we never receive data from readers' Google accounts. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Cookies

The only cookies set while you read MenoMellow are the Google Analytics cookies described above. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party ad networks. Because the site does not set any cookie beyond analytics, we do not show a cookie banner. You remain free to block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; every page will still work.

We do not sell or share your personal information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, in the sense given to those terms by the California Consumer Privacy Act. We have not done so in the past twelve months. We do not knowingly collect any personal information at all beyond the analytics and log data described here.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information a business holds about you, to ask for it to be deleted or corrected, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because we hold no information that identifies you, there is usually nothing for us to retrieve or delete; analytics data is held by Google in a form we cannot tie to a person. If you still want to make a request, reach us through the details on our About page and we will respond within the time the law requires.

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the legal basis for our analytics processing is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. You can object at any time by using the opt-out options above.

Children

MenoMellow is written for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Health information

We are a publication, not a healthcare provider, and we are not a covered entity under HIPAA. We do not collect, store, or transmit protected health information. Anything you share with a telehealth provider after leaving our site is governed by that provider's own privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

If we add a feature that changes what is collected, for example a newsletter, we will update this page and change the date at the top before the feature goes live. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
