What does Hims's GLP-1 program actually cost per month?

Plan on about $300 to $650 a month once you add the required membership. The Wegovy pill at its first dose is the low end. Ozempic at its top dose is the high end.

The price on the Hims weight-loss page is the medication alone. Every prescription also needs an active weight-loss membership, billed as its own charge. The membership costs the same whichever drug you take. It renews on its own schedule, even if you skip a shipment.

• Weekly shot for weight loss: the Wegovy pen, about $500 a month all-in after the first two months.

The Hims membership fee: what $149 a month actually covers

New members pay $39 for the first month. The membership then renews at about $150 a month. It works the same way at sister brand Hers. It does not include any medication.

What the fee buys is ongoing care, not a one-time visit. You get messaging with a licensed clinician, a care team, check-ins and dose changes as you go. It all happens through the app. A video or audio visit comes up only if your state requires one. There is no extra charge for a follow-up question.

Hims now offers several brand-name GLP-1 medicines, and they don't cost the same. Hims says it adds no markup, so the drug follows the maker's own cash price. Here is each one, alone and with the membership.

The Wegovy pill is once-daily semaglutide in tablet form. It is the same drug as the Wegovy shot, approved for weight management. The price rises as your dose climbs.

The Wegovy pen is the weekly semaglutide shot, the form behind most of the research. New patients pay $199 for each of the first two months. After that, the pen costs about $350 a month at every standard dose. With the membership, that is about $500 a month.

Zepbound: about $450 to $600 a month all-in

Zepbound is tirzepatide, made by Eli Lilly, as a KwikPen or a vial. It works on two appetite hormones instead of one. In a head-to-head trial, it led to more weight loss than semaglutide. Its price is set by dose.

Ozempic is the semaglutide brand approved for type 2 diabetes. For weight loss alone, Wegovy is the approved choice, and a clinician decides which fits you.

Foundayo: a newer GLP-1 pill

Foundayo is a daily GLP-1 pill from Eli Lilly, approved for weight management in April 2026. Unlike the Wegovy pill, it has no empty-stomach or water rules. At Hims, it starts at about $150 a month for the drug. That puts it near $300 a month all-in at the first dose.

Can insurance or the Novo Nordisk savings card lower the price?

Hims does not bill insurance. But if you have commercial insurance that covers Wegovy or Ozempic, there is still a way to save. Commercial insurance means a plan from your employer or one you buy yourself.

Novo Nordisk's savings offer can bring a covered fill to as little as $25 a month. It works at a pharmacy that bills your plan, so your prescription goes there. The membership still applies. The offer excludes Medicare, Medicaid and other government plans.

Novo Nordisk also sells a prepaid multi-month Wegovy plan through some telehealth partners. If paying ahead appeals to you, ask Hims whether it offers it.

Hidden fees and billing details that catch people off guard

Two separate subscriptions cause most of the billing confusion in Hims reviews. The membership and the medication are charged on their own schedules. Cancelling one does nothing to the other. Complaints on Trustpilot and the BBB describe charges or shipments continuing after people asked to cancel. Cancel both, and keep proof.

Dose changes can also raise your bill. The Wegovy pill and Zepbound both cost more at higher doses. The Wegovy and Ozempic pens jump after the first two months. Check the price at your next dose before you agree to step up.

Compounded semaglutide is also gone. Hims sold it widely through 2024 and 2025 at a lower price. Novo Nordisk sued Hims & Hers in February 2026, and the two reached a deal in March 2026. Hims then stopped advertising compounded GLP-1s and moved to brand-name drugs.

That followed an FDA warning letter to Hims in September 2025. The FDA objected to marketing that suggested the compounded product was the same as FDA-approved Wegovy. Sister brand Hers got its own letter the same day.

What a full year of Hims GLP-1 treatment actually costs

A real year includes the dose climbing. These figures follow the normal step-up and include the membership with its $39 first month.

• Wegovy pill, climbing to the top dose: about $5,000 a year
• Wegovy pen: about $5,550 a year
• Ozempic pen, up to 1 mg: about $5,550 a year

Budget from these figures, not the starting price. The first month is always the cheapest one you will see.

How Hims pricing compares to Ro, Hers, and compounded alternatives

Hims is not the cheapest path to semaglutide or tirzepatide. Here is how it compares with three services women often weigh.

It has the same active ingredient, but the FDA has not reviewed each product for safety, strength and quality. Which trade-off suits you depends on your budget and your comfort with that difference.

Is the Hims GLP-1 price worth it?

For many women, yes, as long as you count the membership from the start. Hims made brand-name GLP-1s easy to get, often without a video visit. Its cash prices are far below the pharmacy counter. You can often be prescribed and shipped your medicine within about a week.

The trade-offs are worth naming plainly. The membership adds about $1,700 a year before any medication. Two subscriptions mean two cancellations. And dose-based pricing means your bill can climb as treatment goes on.

Hims makes the most sense if you want a brand-name GLP-1 without much hand-holding. Check first whether your insurance and the savings offer could lower the drug price. It makes less sense on a tight budget, where a compounded option like Mochi Health costs less. Hims itself doesn't offer hormone therapy.
