Where to get the Wegovy pill, and what each option costs

Three routes get you the real, brand-name Wegovy pill. Two more sell a compounded semaglutide pill, which is a different product. Here is what each one is and who it suits.

• WeightWatchers Clinic: WW's telehealth program prescribes the real Wegovy pill, plus Zepbound and other brand-name drugs. The pill is billed on top of the membership. Membership about $75/mo on a 12-month plan · About $85/mo on a 6-month plan · First month $25 · First year about $4,180 on the 12-month plan. It suits you if you want WW's coaching and help with insurance.
• Henry Meds: not the Wegovy pill. It sells a compounded semaglutide tablet that dissolves under the tongue. About $250/mo month to month · About $170/mo with 6 months paid upfront · About $150/mo with a year paid upfront. Visits and shipping are included. Each plan covers medicine up to a set amount, so higher doses can cost more.
• Mochi Health: also compounded, a weekly semaglutide pill. About $140 to $170 a month with the $79 membership, rising with your dose. First month of membership free for new members, not in every state · First year about $1,610 at the lowest dose · About $1,940 at the top dose. Prices can vary with the pharmacy that fills it.

Compounded means a pharmacy mixes the medicine itself. It is legal when made for an individual patient. But it is not FDA-approved Wegovy. There is also far less evidence on how well these tablets are absorbed.

Commercial insurance means a plan from your job or one you buy yourself. If yours covers Wegovy, Novo's savings card can bring the pill to as little as $25 a month. Novo pays up to $100 a month, so a high copay can leave you paying more. If your plan does not cover it, the same card gets you the self-pay price at a local pharmacy.

The savings card does not work with Medicare. Instead, Medicare's GLP-1 Bridge charges $50 a month for the pill or pen if you qualify. It runs through December 2027.

Yes, there's a real, FDA-approved Wegovy pill

This part is genuinely new. On December 22, 2025, the FDA approved a once-daily semaglutide tablet for long-term weight management. Its full dose is 25 mg.

What about Wegovy patches? Are any real?

No. Semaglutide is a peptide, which is a chain of amino acids. Healthy skin blocks molecules that size. A patch has no way to get it into your blood.

Can you get the Wegovy pill at CVS?

Yes, with a prescription. CVS is one of more than 70,000 US pharmacies that stock the Wegovy pill, along with Costco and many independent pharmacies. If your own doctor or a telehealth prescriber writes the prescription, CVS can fill it like any other.

CVS Caremark is a different question. It is a pharmacy benefit manager, the company that decides which drugs many insurance plans pay for. In July 2025, Caremark made Wegovy its preferred weight-loss GLP-1 and dropped Zepbound from most standard lists. Since October 1, 2026, Zepbound is back as a second preferred option on its standard lists.

So CVS can hand you the pill if you have a valid prescription. Whether your insurance pays depends on your own plan. Your employer can choose a list that differs from Caremark's standard one. Check your plan's coverage rather than assuming.

Is the Wegovy pill just Rybelsus with a new name?

No. The pill that got a new name is Rybelsus itself. Since May 4, 2026, it is sold in the US as the Ozempic pill.

The mix-up is easy to make. Both are white tablets with the same SNAC helper and the same active drug. The Ozempic pill treats type 2 diabetes and tops out at 9 mg, which matches the old Rybelsus 14 mg. The Wegovy pill is a separate approval for weight loss, with a 25 mg full dose. Weight loss takes much more semaglutide than blood sugar control.

Both follow the same strict rule. You take the tablet first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, with a small sip of water. Then nothing else for 30 minutes.

Do WeightWatchers' Wegovy pills exist?

Not as their own product. WeightWatchers Clinic is the company's telehealth program, once called Sequence. It prescribes the real, brand-name Wegovy pill through its own licensed clinicians. There is no WW-made pill. Ads promising the "Wegovy pill at the lowest price" mean the real Novo Nordisk product, priced through insurance or self-pay.

The membership covers clinician visits and care coordination, not the medicine. You need a 6- or 12-month plan, and the pill is billed on top, at the brand price or through your insurance.

Wegovy pill vs injection: how do they compare?

The biggest difference isn't strength. It is the routine. The pen is a weekly shot. The pill is a daily tablet with a fasting rule that a shot never needs.

That daily discipline is the trade a needle-averse woman makes: no injection, but a strict morning routine every day. Side effects are similar to the shot's, mostly nausea and other stomach upset.

Price favors the pill when you buy direct from the maker. NovoCare charges about $150 to $300 a month for the pill, by dose. The pen costs about $350 a month. The highest pen dose, 7.2 mg, costs about $400. New patients pay about $200 for each of their first two pen fills through December 31, 2026.

This matters more in your 40s and 50s than general weight-loss chatter suggests. Falling estrogen in perimenopause can make the body respond less well to insulin. GLP-1 drugs work on that same system, which is part of the medical interest in them at this stage of life.

What do Wegovy pill users say?

Early comments focus less on whether it works and more on whether the routine is sustainable. The empty-stomach rule comes up again and again as the real friction point, more than the medicine itself.

People who travel or have unpredictable mornings say it is harder to keep up than a weekly shot. The split tends to follow that line. Needle-averse women value the pill enough to build the routine. Others prefer one predictable moment a week.

Red flags: how to spot a fake Wegovy pill or patch

The real pill's launch has given scammers a more convincing cover story. Watch for these signs.

• No prescription or medical questions anywhere in the checkout.
• Sold on Amazon, a TikTok Shop, or through an Instagram or Facebook ad, rather than a licensed telehealth service, NovoCare or a named pharmacy.
• Any "Wegovy patch", whatever the packaging says.
• A price well under $150 a month for something claiming to be the brand-name pill, with no explanation.
• No named, state-licensed pharmacy, or a pharmacy name that appears in no licensing database.
• A request for an extra customs or clearance fee after you have paid.
