What Wegovy costs at NovoCare Pharmacy, pill and pen, at each dose
NovoCare sets one cash price for each dose. There is no membership fee, and shipping is free.
Wegovy pill, priced per 30-tablet bottle
- 1.5 mg, the starting dose: about $150 a bottle
- 4 mg: about $200 a bottle
- 9 mg or 25 mg: about $300 a bottle
Wegovy pen, priced per box of 4 weekly pens
- 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg, first two fills for new patients: about $200 each, through December 31, 2026
- 0.25 mg to 2.4 mg, every other fill: about $350
- Wegovy HD 7.2 mg: about $400
A pill bottle lasts 30 days. A box of pens lasts 28 days, so a year of pens takes 13 boxes, not 12.
- Paying cash with no coverage: NovoCare, by mail or with pickup at a local pharmacy.
- Your plan covers Wegovy: the savings card, as little as $25 a month.
- On Medicare Part D: the GLP-1 Bridge, $50 a month if you qualify.
- No prescriber yet: a telehealth service such as Ro, Sesame or WeightWatchers, with its fee on top of Novo's price.
The $199 first-fill offer: who gets it and when it ends
New patients pay about $200 for each of their first two pen fills. The offer covers only the two starting doses, 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg.
Novo counts you as new if you have never filled a Wegovy injection prescription through NovoCare. Your third fill moves to the standard price of about $350.
The deadline is firm. Your prescription must be written and reach NovoCare by December 31, 2026, and ship by January 31, 2027.
The pill has no intro price. Its starting dose already costs about $150. Novo says it can change or cancel the program at any time.
Is NovoCare Pharmacy legit? Who runs it and who fills your order
Yes. Novo Nordisk, the company that makes Wegovy, opened NovoCare Pharmacy in March 2025.
Novo does not pack the boxes itself. Its terms say NovoCare works through licensed partner pharmacies that sell on a cash basis.
- Lifefill, a BlinkRx pharmacy: the licensed pharmacy your prescription goes to. It can pass your order to a pharmacy in BlinkRx's network.
- CoAssist Pharmacy: runs the older NovoCare Legacy branch and can fill your order.
- CenterWell Pharmacy: fills, tracks and ships orders for the Legacy branch.
So a text from CenterWell or BlinkRx about your Wegovy is normal. NovoCare is a pharmacy, so it does not prescribe. A licensed clinician decides whether Wegovy suits you.
Eli Lilly runs a similar service for Zepbound. Our LillyDirect Zepbound guide covers it.
How to get the Wegovy pill or pen from NovoCare, step by step
- Get a prescription. Your own doctor, your gynecologist or a telehealth clinician can write it.
- Have it sent to NovoCare Pharmacy. Offices can find it by name in their e-prescribing system. If not, they can add it with NPI 1710671854.
- Check that your mobile number is on it. NovoCare sends a welcome text to the phone number on the prescription.
- Set up your account and pay. Credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and HSA or FSA cards all work. You don't need a savings card.
- Choose delivery or pickup. Delivery is free. You can also enroll to pay the self-pay price at a local pharmacy.
- Schedule the shipment. You set up delivery right after payment, and tracking updates follow.
Already filling Wegovy somewhere else? Your current pharmacy can transfer the prescription by calling NovoCare at 1-833-949-5527.
NovoCare cannot change your dose. Moving up a step takes a new prescription.
No prescription yet? Who can write it for NovoCare
NovoCare fills prescriptions but does not write them. Two simple doors lead there.
- Your own doctor or gynecologist. If your gynecologist already manages your hormone therapy, they can send it. Your records stay in one place.
- A telehealth service on Novo's list. NovoCare names nine: 9amHealth, eMed, FormHealth, Hims & Hers, knownwell, LifeMD, Ro, Sesame and WeightWatchers. Novo says it does not endorse them and is not paid for referrals.
Those services charge their own fee, and the drug stays at Novo's price. Our guide to getting a Wegovy prescription compares the costs.
NovoCare Wegovy pill or pen: which costs less over time?
On NovoCare, the pill never costs more than the pen, even during the pen's intro fills.
- Starting out: the pill is about $150, then about $200. The pen is about $200 for two fills, for new patients.
- Maintenance: the pill is about $300 at 25 mg. The pen is about $350 at 2.4 mg, or about $400 at 7.2 mg.
The pill comes with daily rules, though. The label says to take it each morning on an empty stomach, with up to 4 ounces of plain water.
Then you wait at least 30 minutes before food, other drinks or other pills.
That matters if you take a morning thyroid pill. In a study, the semaglutide tablet raised levothyroxine levels by 33%, and the label advises monitoring other oral medicines.
Our Wegovy pill vs pen comparison weighs the two formats. The Wegovy dosage guide lays out the dose steps.
Wegovy self-pay at NovoCare or the savings card?
They solve different problems. NovoCare is for paying cash. The savings card lowers your copay when your insurance pays.
If your plan covers Wegovy
With commercial coverage, the card can bring a fill down to as little as $25. Novo pays up to $100 for a one-month fill, $200 for two months, or $300 for three.
So a copay above $125 a month leaves you paying the rest. The card also has a yearly limit, and Novo does not publish the amount.
If your plan does not cover Wegovy
The card still helps. At a local pharmacy, it gives you the same self-pay price as NovoCare.
Two groups cannot use the card. Anyone in a federal or state health program, such as Medicare, Medicaid, VA or TRICARE, is excluded.
So are plans with copay accumulator or maximizer programs. Those plans don't count manufacturer help toward your deductible.
Our Wegovy savings card guide explains activation, and Wegovy and insurance covers approvals and appeals.
On Medicare? The $50 GLP-1 Bridge
Since July 1, 2026, eligible Part D members pay $50 for a one-month supply of Wegovy, pill or pen. Approvals last through December 31, 2027.
- Age: 18 or older, in one of the BMI groups below.
- BMI of 35 or more: no other condition needed.
- BMI of 30 or more: plus diastolic heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or chronic kidney disease at stage 3a or higher.
- BMI of 27 or more: plus prediabetes, a past heart attack or stroke, or blocked leg arteries that cause symptoms.
- Left out: people with type 2 diabetes, moderate to severe sleep apnea or fatty liver disease, and anyone whose Part D plan already covers a GLP-1.
Your prescriber files a prior authorization, an approval step before the plan pays. They also confirm you follow a diet and exercise program.
Extra Help does not lower the $50. The $50 also does not count toward your Part D deductible or out-of-pocket limit. The Bridge also covers Foundayo and the Zepbound KwikPen.
Don't qualify? NovoCare says people with government insurance can still pay its self-pay price outside their plan. You just can't bill that purchase to Medicare or count it toward your drug costs.
Delivery, storage, states, HSA or FSA, and longer fills
- Delivery: free. You schedule it after payment, and tracking updates follow. Novo does not post a delivery time.
- Pickup: you can enroll to pay the self-pay price at a local retail pharmacy instead.
- Where it ships: Novo's terms limit the offer to the US and its territories. Its partner network ships to all 50 states, Washington, DC and Puerto Rico.
- HSA or FSA: accepted, along with credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Two- or three-month fills: available if your prescriber writes one. The price is simply two or three times the monthly price, with no bulk discount.
- Damaged box: call 1-800-967-9917 right away.
Put pens in the fridge when they arrive, at 36°F to 46°F. Unopened pens can stay out at up to 86°F for 28 days in their carton.
Tablets stay at room temperature, in their original closed bottle and away from moisture.
NovoCare vs TrumpRx, Costco, Ro, Sesame and WeightWatchers
None of these routes beat NovoCare's drug price. They differ in convenience and in the fee on top.
TrumpRx.gov coupon: the intro price at your local pharmacy
TrumpRx.gov offers a Wegovy pen coupon you show at a retail pharmacy. New patients pay about $200 for their first two fills at the starting doses, through December 31, 2026.
After that, the pen is about $350 a month, or about $400 for the HD pen. The TrumpRx page lists only the pen, not the pill.
Costco: Novo's price for members
Costco's Member Value Pricing lists the Wegovy pill at about $300 a month for 9 mg to 25 mg. The pen costs about $350 a month from 1 mg to 2.4 mg.
You need a Costco membership, and shipping costs extra. Costco lists no intro price and no lower pill doses, so NovoCare costs less in your first months.
Ro: a prescriber, coaching and insurance help
Ro prescribes the Wegovy pill and pen at Novo's prices. A Ro Body membership comes on top.
- Membership: about $150 a month. The first month is $39, refunded if you're not eligible.
- Prepaid: about $100 a month for 3 months, about $90 for 6, or about $75 for 12.
- Included: clinician visits, coaching, insurance help and a metabolic lab test when your provider orders one.
Trustpilot reviewers give Ro 3.9 out of 5. Read our Ro review and Ro cost breakdown.
Sesame: choose your own clinician
Sesame is a telehealth marketplace on Novo's list. Its Success by Sesame weight-loss subscription costs about $60 to $100 a month, depending on the term.
The subscription covers video visits and messaging. NovoCare bills your Wegovy separately, at Novo's price. A one-time visit outside the program costs about $35 to $80.
Trustpilot reviewers give Sesame 4.6 out of 5. See our Sesame review.
WeightWatchers Clinic: coaching with a commitment
WeightWatchers is on Novo's list too. Its Med+ membership costs $25 for the first month, then about $75 a month on a 12-month plan or about $85 on a 6-month plan.
There is no month-to-month option. Wegovy is billed separately at Novo's price. Trustpilot reviewers give WeightWatchers 4.0 out of 5. See our WeightWatchers review.
Other names on Novo's list
LifeMD, Hims & Hers, 9amHealth, eMed, FormHealth and knownwell also appear on NovoCare's list. Each one sets its own fees.
In July 2026, the FTC, Utah and California sued Hims & Hers over subscriptions charged without consent and the sharing of health data. See our Hims review, Hers review and LifeMD cost breakdown.

What a year of Wegovy from NovoCare costs
These totals use today's prices. A year of pills takes about 12 bottles, and a year of pens takes 13 boxes.
- Pill, following the label's dose steps: about $150, then about $200, then 10 bottles at about $300. That comes to about $3,350.
- Pill, low end if you stay at 1.5 mg all year: about $1,800.
- Pen with the intro offer: 2 fills at about $200, then 11 at about $350. That comes to about $4,250.
- Pen without the intro offer: 13 fills at about $350, or about $4,550.
Moving up to the 7.2 mg HD pen adds about $50 a fill. A telehealth service adds its own fee on top.
- Ro on the monthly plan: about $1,680 in the first year.
- Ro prepaid for a year: about $890.
- WeightWatchers on the 12-month plan: about $840.
- Success by Sesame: about $710 to $1,190, by term.
The intro offer ends with 2026 orders. Novo has not announced different self-pay prices for 2027.
Will Wegovy get cheaper on January 1, 2027?
The list price will. That is Novo's catalog price before any discount, about $1,350 a month today. It drops to $675 on January 1, 2027.
Novo says the change does not affect its self-pay prices. At about $350, the NovoCare pen already costs about half the new list price.
The cut matters most if you use insurance. With a high deductible or a plan that charges a percentage of the price, your share may shrink.
Is NovoCare cheaper than compounded semaglutide?
Usually not, but compare like with like.
- Drug only at NovoCare: about $150 to $300 for the pill, or about $350 for the pen. You still need a prescriber.
- All-in at Mochi: compounded semaglutide shots run about $140 to $270 a month, membership included, priced by dose.
Compounded semaglutide is not Wegovy. A pharmacy mixes it, and the FDA has not approved it as a finished drug. Since the shortage ended on February 21, 2025, a prescriber needs a medical reason beyond price.
On April 30, 2026, the FDA proposed not to add semaglutide to the 503B bulks list. That list governs large outsourcing pharmacies. The comment period has closed, and no final decision has been published.
Our compounded Wegovy comparison lists sellers, prices and pharmacy types.
What else NovoCare sells: Ozempic pill and pen
NovoCare Pharmacy also sells Ozempic, Novo's semaglutide for type 2 diabetes, as a pill and a pen.
- Ozempic pen: about $200 for new patients' first two fills through December 31, 2026. After that, about $350 up to 1 mg and about $500 at 2 mg.
- Ozempic pill: from about $150 a month, priced by dose.
Each offer belongs to its own medicine. Novo's Wegovy terms count only Wegovy injection fills toward the Wegovy intro offer. See Ozempic cost for the details.
Red flags: fake NovoCare sites and messages
A famous name draws copycats. The real program lives at novocare.com.
- No prescription asked: NovoCare needs a valid prescription before it ships. A site that skips that step is not Novo.
- Brand Wegovy for cash well below $150: Novo's own lowest cash price is about $150. Only insurance and Medicare go lower.
- A web address that is not novocare.com: check it before you enter a card number.
- An unexpected text about an order: if you're unsure, call NovoCare at 1-888-809-3942, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 8 pm Eastern.
Frequently asked questions
How much is Wegovy at NovoCare Pharmacy?+–
The pill costs about $150 a month at 1.5 mg, about $200 at 4 mg and about $300 at 9 mg or 25 mg. The pen costs about $350 a month, or about $400 for the 7.2 mg HD pen. New patients pay about $200 for their first two pen fills through December 31, 2026.
Is the $199 Wegovy offer still available, and when does it end?+–
Yes, for new patients on the pen. It covers the first two fills at 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg. Your prescription must be written and reach NovoCare by December 31, 2026, and ship by January 31, 2027.
Does NovoCare prescribe Wegovy? Can I get it without a prescription?+–
No to both. NovoCare is a pharmacy, so you need a prescription from a licensed clinician. Your own doctor can send it, or you can use a telehealth service on Novo's list, such as Ro, Sesame or WeightWatchers.
How do I send my prescription to NovoCare?+–
Your prescriber sends it electronically to NovoCare Pharmacy, found by name in most systems. If it doesn't show up, the office can add it with NPI 1710671854. Another pharmacy can also transfer an existing prescription by calling 1-833-949-5527.
Is the Wegovy pill cheaper than the pen at NovoCare?+–
Yes, or the same. In month two, the pill and the intro pen both cost about $200. After that, the pill tops out at about $300 a month, while the pen is about $350. A year of pills on the label's steps comes to about $3,350, against about $4,250 for the pen.
Do I need the savings card to get NovoCare's self-pay price?+–
No. NovoCare charges its self-pay price without any card. The savings card matters when your insurance covers Wegovy, bringing a fill to as little as $25.
Can I use NovoCare if I have Medicare?+–
Yes, if you pay cash outside your plan. NovoCare says government-insured patients may self-pay, but the purchase can't count toward your drug costs. If you qualify for the GLP-1 Bridge, Wegovy costs $50 a month through Part D instead.
Can I pay for NovoCare Wegovy with an HSA or FSA?+–
Yes. NovoCare accepts HSA and FSA cards, along with credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Is TrumpRx or Costco cheaper than NovoCare?+–
No. TrumpRx.gov matches NovoCare's pen prices, including the two intro fills, at a retail pharmacy. Costco charges about $300 for the pill at 9 mg to 25 mg and about $350 for the pen, with no intro price. Costco also needs a membership and charges for shipping.
How long does NovoCare take to ship Wegovy?+–
Novo does not post a delivery time. You schedule the shipment right after payment, delivery is free, and tracking updates follow once it ships.
Will NovoCare prices change after December 31, 2026?+–
The intro offer ends with orders received by that date. Novo has not announced other self-pay changes for 2027. The list price drops to $675 on January 1, 2027, and Novo says that does not affect self-pay prices.
Is there a free Wegovy program?+–
Not through Novo's charity program. Its 2026 Patient Assistance Program list includes Ozempic but not Wegovy. The lowest routes for Wegovy are the savings card with coverage and the Medicare Bridge.
